1. Opening hours
FPS Foreign Affairs is open to the public every weekday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. You will need to make an appointment if you wish to visit at other times.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
There are two types of transit visa: a type A airport transit visa and a type B transit visa.
1. A type A airport transit visa allows you to wait for a connecting flight in the international area of the airport. This visa does not grant access to the Schengen area. Only some nationalities require an airport transit visa.
Documents to be submitted with a visa application:
* A valid travel document (e.g. national passport) in which a visa can be affixed. * A visa application form correctly completed, signed and accompanied by two recent passport photos bearing a true likeness to the applicant. * A valid entry visa for the country of destination. * A return ticket. * A valid visa or other document enabling you to return to your country of residence.
2. A type B transit visa allows you to stay a maximum of five days in the Schengen area, prior to travelling onwards to a country located outside the borders of the Schengen area.
Documents to be submitted with a visa application:
* A valid travel document (e.g. national passport) in which a visa can be affixed . * A visa application form correctly filled in and signed together with two recent passport photos bearing a true likeness to the applicant. * A valid entry visa for the country of destination. * A return ticket. * Proof of sufficient means of subsistence for the duration of the stay (cash, cheques and credit cards accepted in Belgium, a pledge of financial support, an employment contract, bank statements, proof of enrolment on the trade register and/or of professional activity). * Proof of a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation.
