Canadian Embassy in Bangladesh is situated in Dhaka, with two other centers in Chittagong and Sylhet providing Visa processing services. Citizen of Bangladesh is required to have Visa for Visit or Transit entry in Canada.
The Visa Section of the High Commission of Canada in Dhaka provides information on Visiting Canada, Working in Canada, Studying in Canada, Immigrating to Canada, and Travel Documents for Permanent Residents of Canada.
The Canada Embassy in Bangladesh or High Commission as it is called has The Department of Citizenship and Immigration which charges fees to partially recover the cost of providing certain services to the public the Processing fees are not refunded for refused or withdrawn applications.
Fees are payable in Canadian dollars or Bangladesh taka. Only bank drafts (demand drafts) are accepted which should be made in favor of “Canadian High Commission” and payable at Dhaka from Standard Chartered Bank.
More conveniently, the bank drafts can be purchased in cash directly at the service bank counter located in the Visa Application Centre.
The Embassy of Canada also provides emergency services to the Citizen of Canada in case of Arrest or Detention, Child Abductions, Evacuations, Natural Disasters and Civil Emergencies, Financial Assistance, Lost or Stolen Belongings, Medical Matters, Missing Persons, Passport, Transportation Accidents.
