About China A large part of Chinese culture, even dating back to the era of the Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, is based on the impression that a spiritual world exists. The Zhou dynasty oriented their spiritual belief to worshipping the broader concept of heaven. King and diviners acted as priests and used oracle bones to worship the supreme god Shang Di during the Xia and Shang dynasties. Early Chinese employed countless methods of divination to seek for answers such that deities are part of the tradition. The old folks adhere to folklores when confronted with circumstances that are seemingly unexplainable. Today, after thousands of years of refinement, a few Chinese fortune telling rituals are still patronized.
