China Embassy in Philippines
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China authorizes the Embassy of China in the Philippines to handle visa applications and inquiries of Philippine citizens regarding entry to China. Ordinary visas are classified and coded with the following Chinese phonetic letters, as follows: Business Visa (F), Transit Visa (G), Tourist/Family Visit Visa (L), Student Visa (X/F) and Employment Visa (Z). Visitors coming to China for tours, visiting relatives, or pleasure trip are issued with Tourist/Family Visa. Business Visa is issued to a person purposely invited to China on profession-related mission such as business meetings, giving lectures or attending a conference, on short-term studies and the like - for a period of less than 6 months. Strictly required in this category is an invitation letter from a Chinese host or a Visa Notification Form issued by Chinese authorized unit. An individual who comes to China for an employment or commercial entertainment performance should secure an Employment Visa. Along with the basic requirements, the prerequisite is a working permit such as one issued by the Alien Employment License of the People's Republic of China issued by Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Please inquire with the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines for other important conditions as well as the requirement set for accompanying family members. Student Visa has two sub-categories: X for students staying more than six months and F for those studying on short-term courses, less than 6 months. There are specific requirements for both categories. Transit travelers planning to stay for more than 24 hours in China - such as Filipino seamen who come onboard a vessel, are issued Transit Visa. A seaman must present a guarantee letter from employer shipping company or a Visa Notification Form issued by Chinese authorized unit. The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines accommodates personal application as well as applications submitted by travel agents filed on the applicants behalf. Mailed applications are not acceptable. Know China Filipinos have a long-held fondness for Chinese traditions and culture. Both share the same liking for the staple rice meals. Still, cultural exchange is popular among Chinese and Filipino students and professionals as well mission works. Like the Philippines, China continues to be a predominantly rural, agricultural nation but Chinas booming industrialization is a challenge for any Filipino visitor to observe. Cities like Beijing the capital, Shanghai, and Guangzhou have developed large industrial bases.
