China Embassy in Romania

The Consular Office of the Embassy of China in Romania is headquartered in Bucharest.

Romanian nationals must comply with the guidelines and specific requirements set by the Chinese Embassy in Romania for them to be granted Tourist/Family Visit Visa (L Visa).  The required documents for applying are: The original passport with blank visa pages and 6-month validity and a copy of the same; One (1) recent passport-sized photograph attached to the properly and legibly filled-up China Visa Application Form.

If a child or a minor is companying to the trip, his or her photo must be attached on the Visa Application Form of one parent applicant. Citizens of other countries who reside Romania and holds proof of the same should offer the Romanian Resident Permit and its copy.

It is important that the Visa applicant himself/herself furnishes the Visa Application Form. He/she can have that application submitted personally or entrusted to an authorized representative or government-accredited travel agency.

The regular Visa Fee, also called Visa Liaison Fee, to be collected for each applicant, here quoted in US dollars, are: Single-Entry Visa with 3-month validity USD 30, Double-Entry Visa with 6-month validity USD 45, Multiple-Entry Visa with 6-month Validity USD 60, and Multiple-Entry Visa with 12-month Validity USD 90.

The regular Visa processing time can take up to five (5) working days.  However, the applicant is given the option to expedite his/her application by paying additional fees: USD 30 for one (1) working day processing and USD 20 for two to three days processing time.

The China Embassy in Romania also holds a Consulate Office in Constanta.

China Culture

With the knowledge of Chinese imperial cuisine and the Chinese aristocrat, there is, apparently, more to Chinese cuisine than we thought had enough of. A trip to China can take you to sample "red cooking," a popular style of stewing vegetables and meats associated with Shanghai.

Chinese dishes we love have distinct taste of sesame paste, dark soy paste, sesame oil, and scallions. Most likely the condiment of choice is fermented tofu.

As oppose to full-course meals, Beijing is more fascinated with snacks.  And so we are seeing and tasting more of little shops or street vendors littering around the city -- but never lacking in that sesame aroma and flavor as would we have in a fancy restaurant in Beijing, serving Chinese of course.
