China Embassy in Singapore
The Embassy of China in Singapore has released an importance notice for Visa-Free Access to China for Singapore nationals starting September 19, 2008. The new directive allow Singaporean citizens holding ordinary passport to avail of visa-free access to Mainland China for sightseeing, visiting relatives or friends, business or transit provided the stay in China does not exceed 15 days. The regular China Visa Fees stipulated by the China Embassy in Singapore, per type of Visa, are as follows: Single-Entry Visa with three-month validity - SGD 25; Double-Entry Visa with six-month validity - SGD 35; Multi-Entry Visa with six-month Validity - SGD 45; Multi-Entry Visa with 12-month Validity - SGD 65; and, Hong Kong Visa/Entry Permit - SGD 50. Regular processing time is four (4) days however, to accommodate urgent applications, an expedited service is available. For one (1) working day processing time the rate is SGD 50 while two to three working days processing time rate is SGD 30. All Visa rates quoted are in Singapore Dollar. Visa applicants are requested to pay in cash and claim their visa according to instructions printed at the Pick-Up Receipt. In the event the Pick-up Receipt is lost, applicants must go to the Embassy to pick up their Visa in person with a valid identification document. The Chinese Embassy in Singapore does not accept payments through credit card. Applications through mail are also discouraged. Other departments such as Political & Press Office, Commercial Office, Educational Office, Cultural Office, Science & Technology Office, and Defense Attaché Office also handles specific inquiries and other matters relating to travel to China. The city possesses some of the most amazing tourist attractions in all of China is the city of Guangzhou, home to Yuexiu Park - with its Ming dynasty Zhenhai Pagoda, the Huaisheng Mosque, a splendid piece of ancient architecture founded in AD 627, the Guangzhou Museum, the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, and famous Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. One of Chinas major zoos is also located in Guangzhou.
