Information sheet for Health and Travel Insurance
The Embassy requires for a Health and Travel Insurance that covers your whole travel to and stay
in Schengen territories.
The Insurance must fulfil the following points:
Risks
□ Cover the costs of rescue, repatriation for medical reason, medical emergency and/or
emergency hospitalisation in case of accident or sudden illness
□ Minimal cover of CHF 50’000.00
Enforceability of insurance proceeds
□ Insurance proceeds must be demandable in any EU or EFTA-country (Norway, Iceland,
Liechtenstein, Switzerland).
□ Court of jurisdiction and prosecution must be, according to the insurance contract, any EU-
or EFTA- country.
□ Insurer guarantees for the payment of the claimed insurance proceeds and therefore
disposes of sizeable assets in any EU- or EFTA - country
Declaration of guarantee
If the Embassy asks for a declaration of guarantee (see Information sheet for visitor visa)
□ Ask the guarantor to procure a travel insurance in the name of the applicant
or
□ Procure your own travel insurance according to the above mentioned requirements.
