Requirements:

In the anticipated conclusion plan, which is subject to a period of initial public comment, the Initiative will be rolled out in phases, as long as much advance warning to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The anticipated timeline is as follows:

January 1, 2008 - Compulsion extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.
This is a change from earlier travel supplies and will have an effect on all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not at present hold legitimate passports.

Visa Fee:

Every immigrant visa application dispensation fee (per person) is (US) $335. Fees must be paid for each intending immigrant regardless of age, and are not refundable. Local currency equivalents are acceptable. Fees should not be sent to the consular office unless requested specifically. The BCIS charges extra fees for filing petitions.

Information and Documentation on visa:

The requester must provide a sworn statement of Support, Form I-864. All Applicants must present certain personal documents such as passports, birth certificates, police certificates, and other civil documents. The consular bureaucrat will notify visa applicants of the documents wanted as their applications are settled.

Whenever there are more capable applicants for a set than there are available numbers, the class will be considered overstay, and immigrant visas will be grant in the sequential order in which the petitions were filed until the numerical limit for the group is reached. The filing date of a petition becomes the applicant's main concern date. Immigrant visas cannot be issued until an applicant's priority date is reached. In certain heavily oversubscribed categories, there may be a waiting period of several years before a precedence date is reached.
