Embassy Visa Information:
Nation and residents of the Republic of Mauritius and Reunion who desire to be relevant for a non-immigrant visa should follow the application procedures. Beginning October 1, 2006, the Embassy only accepts electronic visa application forms (EVAF). Applicants may no longer fill out paper visa application forms. The Embassy strongly encourages intending travelers to apply for visas well in advance of their proposed journey, and to always refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued and they are in receipt of their passport and visa.
Requirements:
When you have finished the procedure of application form, you will be intended for to the appointment system. All applicants should make a split appointment, even if you are traveling jointly. At the rear of your appointment, you will present your printed visa application, passport, photos, and receipt, and you will be given a time to return to the U.S. Embassy later that morning for your interview with a consular bureaucrat. Applications for non-immigrant visas to the United States need one photograph front-view, 5 cm X 5 cm, with a white backdrop.
Visa Fee:
Identification applications for children under age 16 fee U.S. $ 85.00. A first-time application (DS-11) for an adult fee U.S. $ 100.An mature regeneration application (DS-82) fee U.S. $ 75.00. The fee for a replacement of a lost passport is U.S. $ 100.00 for adults and U.S. $ 85.00 for children under, all fees may be paid in U.S. or Mauritian rupees in hard cash
Information and Documentation on Visa:
The Consular part of the United States Embassy will only be accepted for processing of visa on Mondays and Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. through meeting only. Following documents must b consider? a) A completed and signed electronic visa application form Ds-156 for each applicant in spite of age b) Male applicants between the ages of 16 and 45 must also complete form Ds-157 c) Effectual January 1, 2008; a non-refundable processing fee in rupees of the equivalent of USD131.00 must be paid only at the Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd. The bank may need you to present an applicable passport at time of payment. d) One recent full face photo of applicant, in spite of age. e) Passport applicable for at least six.
Eligibility:
Every application for a visa is based on its own qualities. By telephone, it is only possible to give general information regarding the visa application process and suggest the types of documents that might help you to show your eligibility for a U.S. non-immigrant visa. We can't preach visa cases by telephone, because it is impossible to get by phone all relevant facts. The visa application orders clearly state that there is no guarantee that you will receive a U.S. non-immigrant visa if you decide to apply Applicants for a non-immigrant visa are required to conquer the assumption that they intend to immigrate to the United States. Overcoming this assumption can be done by establishing, to the consular officer's satisfaction, that you have suitably strong family, social, or economic ties to your country of residence to ensure that your predictable stay in the United States will be provisional and that you will not work unlawfully.
