Embassy Visa Information:
Applicants should be keeping in mind that consular part in Kigali accepts Visa applications on Monday and Thursday mornings. We suggest all applicants to set up the process well in advance of their future date of travel. A visa issuance result will frequently be given the day of the interview. If issued, the identification with visa should typically be completed for spontaneous.
Requirements:
When applications are conventional, interviews are usually conducted that day. Applicants need present ID at the Embassy Consular entrance, and may be asked to fade away their cell phones at the guard post. Most visa applicants will be fingerprinted electronically during their interview with the Ambassador. All applicants above age 14 have to entire the interview by themselves. Also bring all documenters and call letter with you to your appointment rather than sending them to the Embassy disjointedly. It is also important that all application forms must be typed, printed, and signed!!!
Visa Fee:
The United States Department of State is raising the Machine-Readable Visa application fee for non-immigrant visas to 131 US Dollars effectual January 1, 2008. The US Embassy in Kigali will accept for 30 days those applicants who paid the old $100 fee earlier to January 1. All applicants paying for their visa applications after January 1 must pay the full $131.It must be remunerated in advance.
Information and Documentation on Visa:
Usually, a visa is issued on the same day as the application is completed, after the individual meeting and confirmation and clearances .Tourist and business visas issued to Rwandan nationals are normally valid for 3 months to 10 years. Throughout that period, the traveler can go into the United States many times. Student and Diplomatic visas are usually applicable for up to 5 years.
Each applicant, as well as children included on a parent's passport, must present the following documents.
1. A finished supplemental form DS-157. 2. A passport applicable for at least 6 months. 3. Two copies of a new full-face, color photograph with a white backdrop. 4. All previous passports, if appropriate.
Eligibility:
According to U.S. immigration law, every foreign national applying for a visa is understood to be an intending immigrant, except he or she proves that he or she has physically powerful family, social, economic and expert ties to his or her home country. These ties should be strong enough to induce the applicant to return home after a provisional stay in the U.S. The applicant has the load of evidence to delight the consular officer of their eligibility for a non-immigrant visa.The United States Section of Homeland Security will grant each traveler at the harbor of entry authorization to remain in the United States for an exact span of time. That time phase is habitually 6 months for tourism and business trips.
